Republicans are offering a step-by-step, common-sense approach to health care reform – an altogether better solution than the 2,032-page government takeover of health care being pushed through Congress by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

We’ve introduced a bill to lower costs, and increased access to high-quality care – a bill the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has confirmed will lower premiums by up to 10 percent, without imposing tax increases on families and small businesses.

As Ohio and other states across the nation continue to struggle with joblessness, rising costs of living and skyrocketing health care costs, our plan offers real relief.

In fact, the House Ways and Means Committee has determined that under the Republican plan, premiums for families will be nearly $5,000 lower than the cheapest plan in the Democrats’ government-run proposal.

Not only does the Republican plan lower health care costs, but it also expands access to quality care at a price our country can afford, and tackles the problems in our health care system that have contributed to the crisis we face today.

Specifically, our bill includes common-sense solutions to:

• Guarantee that all Americans – regardless of pre-existing conditions and past illnesses – have access to the care they need at affordable prices by creating Universal Access Programs that expand and reform high-risk pools and reinsurance programs.

• Encourage competition – which is key to lowering prices and increasing quality of care – by allowing Americans to shop for coverage from coast to coast and permitting Americans living in one state to purchase insurance in another.

• Empower small businesses to pool together and offer health care at lower prices, just as corporations and labor unions do. • Reward innovation by providing incentive payments to states that reduce premiums and the number of uninsured.

• Help end costly junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order, not because they think it is good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued.

Clearly, our bill offers a stark contrast to Pelosi’s health care plan. Pelosi’s bill represents bureaucracy designed to centralize health care decision-making in Washington at the expense of patients and doctors.

It will create dozens of boards, bureaus and commissions in charge of coming up with new regulations and red tape that will inevitably make health care in this country more expensive.

And despite costing $1.3 trillion, it will push billions more in costs over to already cash-strapped states like Ohio, where our governor is already struggling to fill an estimated $850 million state budget hole.

Enough is enough. Americans are fed up. The trillion-dollar “stimulus” isn’t working. Unemployment is rising. The debt to be paid by our kids and grandkids is exploding.

As members of the House of Representatives prepare to take a vote on a health care bill as early as today, they must make a decision:

They can vote for Pelosi’s bill that will raise premiums, increase taxes and cut Medicare benefits for seniors, or they can support the Republican plan that makes health care more affordable and accessible for our families.

The American people have made it clear where they stand. It is time for members of Congress to show they are listening.

Newt Gingrich has voiced his criticism of President Obama’s decision not to attend next week’s 20th anniversary celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall.  Gingrich calls the decision, “a tragedy.”  I call it a travesty.  The difference is significant.  Defining synonyms are “calamity” and “misfortune.” Tragedy implies a random event that has wrought destruction.  No, this is an outrage, a travesty.  The Cambridge online dictionary defines a travesty as “something which fails to represent the values and qualities that it is intended to represent, in a way that is shocking or offensive.”  The President’s refusal to attend the commemoration is both shocking and offensive.  Furthermore, Obama is fails to represent the values and qualities that are the United States of America.

Why should this surprise anyone?  Obama lives in an upside down world, where good is bad and bad is good.  Where democracy and freedom are disrespected and the high calling is government control of the individual.  Capitalism is scorned and despised.  Communism and dictatorships appear to be admired.  Simply recall the Obama response to the Honduran coup, its relationship with Venezuela, Cuba…  Now contrast that to the way they snubbed Britain’s Brown, the Queen (an ipod filled with Obama speeches for an old woman), and his condemnation of Israel.  Now Germany gets snubbed.  Naturally, they have been a loyal ally for decades.

So is it any wonder he refuses to attend a commemoration of the seminal moment for freedom in the 20th century?  No, for Mr. Obama the fall of the wall represents a tragic moment for socialism and communism.  It represents the failure of government totalitarian control over industry and the socialist business model overall.  So, rather than attend a celebration a quarter of the way around the world, it is understandable that the President would prefer to mourn quietly back in Washington.  After all, he is rebuilding the former glory that once was the Soviet bloc right here.  Why would he want to spoil that euphoria by remembering the last time it ended in spectacular failure.

I’m sorry.  I wanted to like Obama.  Seriously.  Not because of any latent liberalism but because I was hoping he’d rule from the center.  I would still have found plenty to disagree with, but what we have now may spell disaster.  We have our first Socialist President.  We have our first Post-American President.  Post-Freedom, Post-Capitalism.  Post-Pro-Democracy.  With each passing decision, the President moves farther and farther to the left. If you believe the lame excuse provided through the equally lame Press Secretary you are one of the ignorant soon-to-be peasant masses. Too busy to attend an event commemorating the singular most pivotal event of the second half of the 20th century.

If you are an Obama supporter you really should do some soul-searching. Examine what motivates you to cheer Obama and his arrogant Congress.  Is it simply Capitalism you hate?  Do you really believe the government can run industry better than the free market?  Or are you simply ignorant?  Do you seriously believe only the wealthiest Americans will pay for all the socialist programs being pushed on us today?  If we completely plundered the entire income of the top 2% we could not cover the expenses this government wants to undertake. If these are not your motives or your delusions you need to wake up and smell the garbage being delivered to your front door.  Or maybe you’re like this person:

The link to the post below talks about Major Hasan’s premeditated murder against U.S. military personnel, an act of treason.

Some in the media are calling it a simple murder rampage, but the post advances the idea that his actions are rooted in what is called “cognitive dissonance” and that his actions were inevitable.

The fact that federal authorities did not open a full investigation on Hasan suggests that even our military and federal government has failed to “get it”.

I found this column in today’s Examiner.com. It is written by Anthony G. Martin, who also blogs at Liberty Sphere.  He covers the material well and paints a picture of the extreme arrogance we are dealing with.

However, we must remember the Democrats, led by Pelosi, Reid, and Obama, know their window of opportunity is closing.  In about a year that window will be closed as Republicans and conservative will sweep away their temporary super-majority.  If anything last Tuesday’s repudiation encourages them rather than chastens them.  It encourages them to move with a sense of urgency knowing they must act before the public can throw them out.  Why, you may be asking?  Because a sweeping take-over of health care give Democrats power.  The more people latched onto the government tit they more people are beholden to the Democrats.  They are enslaving the American people while the idiot masses gladly extend their hands for a bit more money, never suspecting it is they who are paying for it.  In more ways than they realize.

Unconscionable.

That is the only word one can find that adequately describes the actions of an extremist U.S. government barely 2 days out from a clear repudiation by the voters.

Unconscionable.  A most startling word that denotes the lack of a conscience.

There is no other way to suitably or more accurately describe the actions of the U.S.Congress today, initiated by the Democratic leadership, even as hundreds if not thousands of conservatives descended upon Washington in a Capitol Building protest led by Rep. Michelle Bachmann.

Bachmann’s plan included a rally on the Capitol steps to decry the push by Nancy Pelosi and other extremists to shove government-run healthcare down the throats of the American people, followed by a citizen-led person-to-person campaign as the protesters seek out and talk to their own Representatives face-to-face.

These stalwart Patriots arrived in Washington just in the nick of time, it would appear.

Reuters reports that a Senate panel led by California Leftist Barbara Boxer approved a ‘climate change’ measure over the objections of the GOP, which boycotted the vote en mass. The bill essentially cripples the oil, coal,and gas industries by mandating ‘carbon emissions’ restrictions that would have the effect of hampering the ability of Americans to say warm, cool, and drive to work…you know, that little thing we call ‘LIVING.’

Unconscionable.

Bloomberg is reporting that despite the voice of the citizens in repudiating ObamaCare and other Obama initiatives in Tuesday’s vote, the Democratic leadership in the House is proceeding with plans for a vote on the massive 2-trillion-dollar government takeover of healthcare. The vote could come as early as tomorrow or Saturday.

Unconscionable.

And then, in perhaps the most outrageous action of all, the U.S. Senate, led by Leftist extremists such as Harry Reid, John Kerry, Chris Dodd, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, and Chuck Schumer, voted to BLOCK a simple question from being asked on the upcoming U.S. Census.

That question? ‘Are you a U.S. citizen?’

Unconscionable.

The whole purpose of the census is to discover how many CITIZENS we have in the U.S. for the purpose of setting House district boundaries, the number of representatives allowed to the states, as well as billions of dollars in federal money.

When illegal aliens are included in the mix, which the Democrats wish to do, an unfair advantage is created in favor of those states that have the most illegals–states such as California.

Such a thing is not only unconstitutional but criminal.

Since law enforcement won’t do that job in holding our elected officials accountable to the law and the Constitution, is it time for ordinary citizens to place these enemies of the rule of law under ‘citizens’ arrest?’

No one is above the law, and extremist illegal measures implemented by elected officials should be met by extreme action on the part of the citizens.

This is a clear attack on our liberties. And, as Barry Goldwater is famous for saying, ‘Let me remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me also remind you that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.’

This was sent to me and I just had to share it.

Don’t ask me how, but only the grace of God can make this credible.

Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama go to heaven…

God addresses Al first..

”Al, what do you believe in?”

Al replies:

“Well, I believe that I won that election, but that it was your will that I did not serve…
And I’ve come to understand that now.”

God then turns and addresses Bill.

“Bill, what do you believe in?”

Bill touches his nose and replies:

“I believe in forgiveness.  I’ve sinned, but I’ve never held a grudge against my fellow man, and I hope no grudges are held against me.”

God thinks for a second and says:

“You are forgiven, my son. Come and sit at my right.”

Then God turns his gaze toward Barrack, and asks:

“Barrack, what do you believe in?”

Without hesitation Barack steps toward the throne, throwing his thumb over his shoulder, he replies:

“I believe you’re in my chair.”

Scozzafava's stunt favored Hoffman

The Congressional race in New York’s District 23 has made headlines nationwide.  Just three days before the votes were cast, Dede Scozzafava the Republican candidate dropped out of the race, as it became clear her chances of winning were gone.  Conservative candidate, Doug Hoffman has been declared the spoiler, who forced Scozzafava from the race.  Few have actually pinned the blame on Scozzafava’s own political philosophy.  Scozzafava tipped her hand in her withdraw speech.  She announced she was withdrawing, “for the good of the party.”  Then hours later she endorsed Democratic candidate, Bill Owens.  This writer wonders what “good of the party” means to Ms. Scozzafava, perhaps her definition and mine are not the same, unless she is referring to her true party allegiance.

The press has labeled Scozzafava a moderate.  In my commentary, Finding a New Souter, I predicted left-wing radicals would be become the new “moderates.” I was spot-on.  Scozzafava holds a hard left-wing party line on nearly every issue.  She supports the massive federal stimulus act, EFCA (the employee no-choice act), cap and trade, same-sex marriage rights, unhindered abortion rights, and the basic tenets of Pelosicare, the same as nearly every Democrat out there.  She even proudly held the not-so-coveted ACORN endorsement.  I made an effort to find a significant issue where Scozzafava differed from Progressives and all I could find was her opposition to gun-control.  It became quite clear why she endorsed the Democrat, rather than the Conservative.  As for this writer the endorsement sheds light on which party’s good she had in mind when she made her nearly tearful withdraw speech.

Time for a Change We Can Believe In

Scozzafava was nominated by party leaders not by the Republican base in District 23.  Hoffman on the other hand is not even a Republican.  He is a Conservative, a legitimate political party in New York. Why did Scozzafava dropout?  I don’t care.  She was a Democrat in Republican clothing and whether she remained or exited didn’t matter.  The people of NY23 saw beneath the mask and rejected her.  Was it a rejection of Obama?  Perhaps but that doesn’t matter.  The larger point is that Republican leaders need to sit up and take notice.  Conservatives are tired of Republicans, especially liberal ones.

The Conservative party I think should consider going national next year.  People in the country are more likely to call themselves “conservative” rather than Republican.  In fact, a recent poll found 40% of Americans consider themselves conservative, while 20% consider themselves liberal, 38% Democrat, and 32% Republican.

Building the Brand

In 1994, Democrats faced down a crushing defeat in Congressional races, losing both the House and the Senate for the first time in nearly 40 years.  At the time I expected Democrats would realize the nation had slid to the right and respond by tacking to the center.  However, Democrat strategists seem to understand something today’s Republican leaders can’t grasp, brand differentiation.  Rather than move toward the center the Democratic party made the calculated decision to move farther to the left.  This helped define their differences and kept them from losing their identity. Clinton tacked to the center because he had to work with the Republican Congress but the party had no need to do that.

Republican loses in 2006 and 2008 were largely due to the unpopularity of G.W. Bush.  Rather than reinforce conservative principles, the Republican leadership and their strategists, moved the party to the left.  Thus clouding the differences that define political ideology.  There simply should not be liberal Republicans or conservative Democrats.  The only reason such candidates exist is to play the system.  If Republicans do not take this opportunity to return to their foundation, perhaps, it is time for a multi-party system.

I’ve heard partisans argue that introducing additional parties would ruin the American political system.  I disagree.  I lived in a nation with four parties and it worked fine.  The various parties represented clearly defined slices of the political spectrum.  Big tents are for big fools.  Big tents become crowded with phonies and impostures.  Now let me say, I prefer a strong conservative Republican party and that is what I am calling for.  I’m calling for Republicans to “right-size” the tent.

You don’t hear Democrats talking about making their tent big by accepting right-wing Democrats.  No, rather they attack the so-called blue dogs and strong-arm them into submission.  Yet David Axelrod along with major news outlets known for their historic association with and endorsements of liberal candidates are clambering for Republicans to enlarge their tent and move the party left.  Why?  Because their goal is to weaken and destroy the Republican party.  They are not offering advice to help, they are baiting and hoping for a collapse.

A New Conservative Party

Republican victories in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York should not be taken lightly and should serve as a rally call.  If there are lessons to be learned from tonight’s election it is that people are not happy with the socialist agenda being pursued by Pelosi, Reid, and Obama.  Should Republicans be energized by this?  Absolutely.  This should be the herald to get Republicans to return to their core values.  If Republicans refuse to heed this call and continue this leftward drift they will be sacrificing their long-term survival.

I would question the viability of a party that loses sight of its core principles.  I would even question whether such a party is worth saving.  Whatever direction the Republicans choose, its ideals are worth saving.  That said, the party’s worth hangs upon its commitment to those values.  We suffered through eight years of Republicans compromising and in many cases capitulating to Democrats, all to the detriment of party and nation.

We need a party committed to the ideals of individual freedom, while protecting the people from abuses from within and without.  We need a party that promotes American businesses that create American jobs, not simply feeding the greed of a few at the expense of many.  This means not freely allowing American treasure to flow outward as American industry fades into the annals of history.  Business is the life-blood of a nation.  Business provides jobs, business pays taxes that drive the nation, business builds wealth for investors, employees, and the government that supports and protects it.  Business is not the enemy nor is it God.

We need a party that understands that American self-determination is essential to its survival.  It must understands the admonition of our third President who said, “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none.“¹  We need a party that understands the value of money; that debts must be repaid and that repayment will necessitate economic consequences the people will not accept.  We need a party that understands a fiat currency is not a real currency.  A party that recognizes there is a need to produce something of value to facilitate and sustain healthy international trade.  We need a party that won’t accept the idea that American infrastructure can be sold to repay American debt.

The Results Are In, Right?

Today New York’s 23rd district cast their votes.  ACORN no doubt did their usual best to stuff the ballot boxes, ala Chicago-style.  Meanwhile you can bet Labor Unions roamed the streets making sure their members voted so no unfortunate accidents happened to them.  Tonight, USA Today’s website reports voting machines “broke down” in NY’s 23rd district, delaying the vote count until tomorrow.  Just too convenient, don’t you think?  Just an hour before the stroke of midnight, nearly all the east coast races are reporting preliminary results or a projected winner.  Not NY 23.  It smells if you ask me.

As I finalized this commentary results first appeared in this race.  At 11:55pm 87% of the precincts are now reporting in, the results are as follows:

• Bill Owens (D)           49% (59,630 votes)
• Doug Hoffman (C)       46% (55,166 votes)
• Dede Scozzafava (R)     5% (   6,706 votes)

Four thousand votes is within ACORN’s capabilities and if Hoffman loses he needs to insist any hint of fraud be thoroughly investigated.  ACORN is potentially more corrupt than any third-world dictatorship.

In July of 2009, a University of Arizona economist, Professor William Boyes, stated that the federal government owns or controls 30 percent of private wealth in America.

Boyes said his calculations were rather simple in nature not even worthy of a Nobel Prize.

I simply added up how much of GDP [gross domestic product] was govt run or govt controlled. I gave an approximation that is pretty conservative. I suspect the actual number is more like 40%; if health care goes through then it will rise to over 50%.

KGB Agent, Yuri Bezmenov explains how Soviets “brain-washed” Americans into socialists.  Are we now living the success of that program?

Yuri Bezmenov, a Russian born, KGB trained subverter explains how the Soviet Union influenced Western media to bring about real change in the West.  He describes the stages of the communist takeover and how it would be accomplished. The interview was conducted by G. Edward Griffin in 1984.

In it Bezmenov says:

” The main emphasis of the KGB has not been in the area of intelligence gathering. Only 15% of time, money and man-power is spent on espionage. The other 85% is spent on “ideological subversion” or “active measures”. It is a great brain-washing process. It takes a long time.

The process consists of 4 stages, one of which is called “Demoralization”. This stage takes between 15 and 20 years. This is because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students. The process exposes the students to the ideology of the enemy i.e. the Marxism-Leninism ideology and is pumped into the soft heads of young students for at least 3 generations without being challenged or contra-balanced by the ideology of the basic values of American patriotism.

Most of the people who graduated in the ’60s, the drop-outs, the half-baked intellectuals now occupy the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media and education system. America is now stuck with them.

The process of demoralization is then complete and irreversible. It will take another 15 to 20 years to wash away the intellectual contamination and corruption of values. A person who is demoralized is unable to process truth.”

Saul Alinsky was only a small yet effective element of that effort.

America needs to wake up. But I fear too many have been subverted and unable to process truth.
